## Hijab clad girl intrudes into a temple in Kerala; Complaint lodged by the temple committee for violating sanctity : 2-Dec-2020 : Organiser : Media Report.

A complaint has been lodged at the Wandoor Police Station in Kerala against an unidentified Hijab wearing girl who intruded into Vanniyambalam temple in Malappuram district. A picture of this girl sitting inside a temple wearing shoes was widely circulated in social media. The complainant Sarath Kumar, secretary at the Sree Thripurasundari Devi Temple, on his complaint noted that the accused was intentionally doing this to trigger communal disturbances in the area.

The complaint accused the unidentified girl of hurting his religious sentiments and said that the girl’s act is punishable under the Indian Penal Code sections 153, 153A and 295A. Malappuram, a Muslim majority district in Kerala, has been a hotbed for Islamist fundamentalism in Kerala. Many of the controversial religious conversion centres operated through petrodollar are headquartered in this district. The presence of the Muslim League as a formidable force has also resulted in the expansion of radicalisation in the district.

Malappuram is notoriously known for anti-Hindu riots which are usually referred to as ‘Mappilah riots’. As per the Islamic doctrine, idol worshipping is a sin. During medieval times, Hindu temples were destroyed to show the ruler’s true allegiance to the Quran. Here the girl on the picture is also indoctrinated with the same thoughts, hence celebrating her hate for idols and idol worshippers.
