सभी नॉर्डिक देशों के लीडर्स delegates,

मीडिया के साथियों,

आप सबको मेरा नमस्कार!

आज तीसरे इंडिया-नॉर्डिक समिट में भाग लेने पर मुझे बहुत खुशी हो रही है। सबसे पहले, मैं नॉर्वे के प्राइम मिनिस्टर का इस समिट का आयोजन करने के लिए, हृदय से आभार व्यक्त करता हूँ। मैँ सभी नॉर्डिक लीडर्स का भी यहाँ स्वागत करता हूँ।

Democracy, rule of law और मल्टी-लैटरलिज़म के प्रति हमारी साझा प्रतिबद्धता, हमें natural पार्टनर्स बनाती हैं। और टेक्नॉलजी और सस्टेनिबिलिटी में हमारी shared priorities, हमारे संबंधों को अवसरों से भर देती है। इसीलिए, 8 वर्ष पहले, हमने नॉर्डिक देशों के साथ अपने संबंधों को ऊर्जा और गति देने के लिए, इस फॉर्मैट का गठन किया।

मुझे बहुत खुशी है, कि पिछले कुछ वर्षों में, हमने अपने संबंधों में विशेष प्रगति की है। 10 वर्षों में हमारा बाइलैटरल ट्रेड लगभग चार गुना बढ़ा है।

नॉर्डिक देशों के इन्वेस्टमेंट फंड भी भारत की रैपिड ग्रोथ में एहम साझेदार बन रहें हैं। पिछले एक दशक में, नॉर्डिक देशों से भारत में निवेश में लगभग 200 पर्सेन्ट की बढ़ोत्तरी हुई है।

तेजी से बढ़ते ट्रेड and इन्वेस्टमेंट ने भारत की ग्रोथ स्टोरी में तो योगदान दिया ही है; साथ-ही, नॉर्डिक देशों की अर्थव्यवस्थाओं में भी बहुत सकारात्मक भूमिका निभाई है, और हजारों नयें jobs create किए हैं। इस मजबूत नींव पर, अपने संबंधों को नेक्स्ट लेवल पर ले जाने के लिए, हमने हाल-ही में कुछ महत्वपूर्ण पहलें की हैं।

अक्टूबर 2025 से, नॉर्वे, आइसलैंड और अन्य एफ्टा देशों के साथ, हमने ट्रेड एण्ड इकनॉमिक पार्ट्नर्शिप अग्रीमेन्ट लागू किया। और कुछ ही महीने पहले, हमने भारत-यूरोपियन यूनियन फ्री ट्रैड अग्रीमेन्ट किया, जिसमें डेनमार्क, फिनलैंड, और स्वीडन भी भागीदार हैं। इन महत्वाकांक्षी ट्रेड अग्रीमेंट्स से, हम भारत और नॉर्डिक देशों के साथ संबंधों में, एक नए स्वर्णिम युग की शुरुआत करने जा रहे हैं।

भारत-नॉर्डिक साझेदारी का एक महत्वपूर्ण स्तम्भ, हमारे व्यापक रिसर्च और इनोवेशन ties भी है। इसे सुदृढ़ करने के लिए, हम साथ मिलकर, यूनिवर्सिटी, लैब्स और स्टार्ट-अप एकोसिस्टम के बीच linkages बढ़ाएंगे। हम आर्कटिक और पोलर रिसर्च में अपना सहयोग और गहरा करेंगे। और भारत और नॉर्डिक देशों के बीच, स्किल डेवलपमेंट और टैलेंट मोबिलिटी के नए अवसर सुनिश्चित करेंगे।

आज हम सबने मिलकर ग्लोबल issues पर भी विचार साझा किए। वैश्विक तनाव और संघर्ष के इस दौर में, भारत और नॉर्डिक देश साथ मिलकर, एक rules-based ग्लोबल ऑर्डर को बल देते रहेंगे। और यूक्रेन हो या वेस्ट एशिया, हम संघर्ष की शीघ्र समाप्ति और शांति के प्रयासों का समर्थन करते रहेंगे।

हम इस बात पर सहमत हैं, कि मल्टीलैटरल institutions का रिफॉर्म आवश्यक भी है, और urgent भी। और टेररिज़म पर भी हमारा clear औरunited stand है- No compromise. No double standards.

वैसे तो हम सभी अलग-अलग भाषाएं बोलते हैं। लेकिन कभी-कभी एक शब्द भी हमारी natural partnership को रेखांकित करने के लिए काफी होता है। आज मैने कई बार, “संबंध” शब्द का प्रयोग किया। कई नॉर्डिक भाषाओं में “संबंध” शब्द का अर्थ है, कनेक्शन, रिलेशन्स, एक बॉन्ड हिन्दी में भी “संबंध” का अर्थ यही है।

यह केवल शब्दों की समानता नहीं है। यह हमारे विचारों की निकटता को दर्शाता है। आइए, हम अपने बीच संबंध को, हर क्षेत्र में प्रगाढ़ करें, और इंडिया-नॉर्डिक पार्ट्नर्शिप को shared प्रास्पेरिटी, इनोवैशन और सस्टैनबल फ्यूचर का एक मॉडल बनाएं।

PM’s meeting with Prime Minister of Iceland on the margins of the 3rd India-Nordic Summit

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had a bilateral meeting with H.E. Ms. Kristurn Frostadottir, Prime Minister of Iceland in Oslo on the margins of the 3rd India-Nordic Summit.

This was the first meeting of the two leaders since the assumption of office by Prime Minister Frostadottir. Prime Minister Modi congratulated Prime Minister Frostadottir for being the youngest Prime Minister in the history of Iceland.

The two leaders exchanged views on deepening bilateral ties, especially in the context of coming into effect of India-European Free Trade Association (EFTA) Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA). Both leaders concurred that TEPA provides an excellent opportunity to unlock the true bilateral potential in trade, investment, and manufacturing collaboration.

The two leaders also reviewed the progress of bilateral cooperation in sectors such as geothermal energy, fisheries, innovative technologies, creative economy, culture, tourism, mobility, and people-to-people contacts. They also discussed enhancing cooperation in the Arctic research.

Prime Minister Modi invited Prime Minister of Iceland to visit India in a mutually convenient time.

PM’s meeting with Prime Minister of Finland on the margins of the 3rd India-Nordic Summit

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi met with H.E. Mr. Petteri Orpo, Prime Minister of Finland on the sidelines of the 3rd India-Nordic Summit in Oslo on 19 May 2026.

With the elevation of the bilateral relations to a Strategic Partnership in Digitalization and Sustainability, both Leaders emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration between industry, research institutions, and academia. They underscored the pivotal role of sustainability and digitalization in driving future economic growth and development. They took stock of ongoing cooperation in the areas of trade & investment, digitalisation, AI, 5G/6G, quantum technologies, space, sustainability, renewable energy, circular economy, innovation, education, mobility and people-to-people ties.

Both sides also welcomed the steady growth in bilateral trade in goods and services despite global challenges and reaffirmed their commitment to doubling existing bilateral trade by 2030. Additionally, they welcomed the increasing presence of their leading technology companies in each other’s markets through expanded operations and partnerships. The Finnish side also appreciated the significant contributions of Indian professionals to the growth and innovation of Finland’s technology sector. The leaders also announced India and Finland jointly hosting the World Circular Economic Forum in September 2026 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India.

India and Finland share warm, friendly and multi-faceted relations, rooted in shared democratic values. Finland is a valued partner for India in the European Union and the Nordic region. Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the progress of the India-EU Strategic Partnership and underlined the importance of early entry into force of India-EU Free Trade Agreement. They exchanged views on regional and global developments, and on greater cooperation in international organizations.

PM’s meeting with Acting Prime Minister of Denmark on the margins of the 3rd India-Nordic Summit

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today met with Acting Prime Minister of Denmark H.E. Ms. Mette Frederiksen met in Oslo today on the sidelines of the 3rd India-Nordic Summit.

The two leaders reviewed bilateral cooperation and expressed satisfaction at the progress achieved in the joint agenda. Both leaders welcomed the advances made in the India-Denmark Green Strategic Partnership which prioritizes collaboration in the field of environment and climate change and pooling of efforts to aid green transition in both countries. Recalling the regular high-level exchanges between both countries ever since the launch of the Green Strategic Partnership in 2020, the leaders decided to further strengthen collaboration in new and emerging technologies, communications, advanced research, start-ups and academic exchanges. They also discussed cooperation in the areas of defence and AI. Prime Minister invited Danish companies to setup presence in GIFT city Gujarat.

Prime Minister Modi conveyed India’s readiness to welcome Danish technologies for green solutions in the rapidly developing Indian economy. In the field of water, the leaders noted the successful collaboration between India and Denmark to establish the Smart Laboratory on Clean Rivers (SLCR) in Varanasi which is a unique tripartite initiative taken by the Government of India, Indian Institute of Technology – Banaras Hindu University and Government of Denmark. The leaders discussed mobility partnership.

The leaders also shared perspectives on regional and global issues of mutual interest. Prime Minister Modi conveyed his good wishes for the success of Denmark’s ongoing tenure of non-permanent membership of the United Nations Security Council.
