The woman alleged that there was a plan to sell her as a sex slave to the Islamic States (IS) that has a prominent presence in Syria. The Superintendent of Police of Ernakulam (rural) AV George said that two persons – Fawaz Jamal and Mohamed Siyad – were charged under several sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC), as reported by the Hindustan Times. The woman’s husband Mohamed Riyaz, 26, hailing from North Kerala, was conspiring to sell her off to IS in Syria, she alleged. Opinion        28/01/2018                  1109 Sub : - CPM Kannur Dist Meet: CM lauds China, Cuba in inaugural speech : Ref : Media reports -Malayalam daily-s Kannur: Days after CPM state Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan’s pro-China remarks raked up a controversy, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has come out with statement lauding China and Cuba. Inaugurating the delegates’ meeting at the Kannur District Conference on Saturday, Pinarayi said China is against the US efforts to build a ‘one world order’. “I am not going into the details of the ideologies of Chinese Communist party. Party had taken a clear stand on the matters related to China at its Party Congress in Kozhikode,” he added. He further noted that China had made long strides in economic sector. The country has contributed 30 percent to the global economic growth, he said. It has achieved most of its targets. They had aimed for 6-7 percent GDP growth and have achieved the same, Pinarayi added.
