*Three years between Modi and Imran; who won the war of Sensibility?Narendra Modi-Imran Khan

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"The biggest tussle between Modi and Imran came in February 2019 when India retaliated Pulwama terror attack by bombing some terror hideouts, and Pakistan struck back, shooting down an Indian fighter jet and capturing pilot Abhinandan Varthaman."

New Delhi: Imran Khan has completed three years in office. His Indian counterpart Narendra Modi–who has offered himself as a macho nationalist and a Hindu leader–is in office for a little over seven years now. Modi will be in power for the next three years till May 2024 and Imran expectedly till August 2023 if there is no military intervention.

Between these years, many new things and path-breaking episodes unfolded between two countries, and intellectuals debated much about the so-called perception war. Well, leaders are made by people. English media and select websites, in particular in India guided by their holier-than and know-all ivory tower expertise, can have misnomers, and they have to live with those.

"While Modi has retained a vice-like grip in two Lok Sabha elections spaced between five years (2014 and 2019), he has been BJP's trump card in most state elections – even the tough ones like West Bengal in 2021 and Karnataka in 2018. From media reports in Pakistan, it is suggested Imran Khan and his party too have been 'popular' and perhaps also marginalised rivals such as PPP in its bastion Sindh province and PML (Nawaz) elsewhere."

"Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari is now touted as an alternative to Prime Minister Imran Khan if the PPP can stitch together a coalition for the next elections," says a commentary by Fahf Hussain in 'Dawn'. Modi's case has been luckier as the opposition in India are still in search of a good clue to prepare a roadmap. The talk about an alternative leader is out of the question as of now.

The biggest tussle and battle of nerves between Modi and Imran came in February 2019. India retaliated Pulwama terror attack by bombing some terror hideouts, and Pakistan struck back, shooting down an Indian fighter jet and capturing pilot Abhinandan Varthaman.

Imran Khan also later announced his release, and a section hailed the move as 'reverse swing' by the former cricket legend. The truth of the matter is Islamabad got a firm warning from New Delhi that they will have to release Abhinandan unconditionally and in sound health and body. The story of Indian' warning' was shared by a top source in the Modi government to a select group of journalists. India's message was very clear - We will not talk. One hundred thirty crore Indians want our pilot Abhinandan released. The Pak PM decision to 'send back' the Indian pilot was understood by overwhelming Indians in its true sense.

Time has dulled Pakistan's memory in more ways than one. Thus, notwithstanding the claim of enforcing principles of 'Naya Pakistan' - as claimed by Imran Khan - Islamabad has not yet given up the old habits of trying to thrive in propaganda.

One says this because RIC–Russia, India and China, after foreign ministers meeting at Wuzhen (China), February 27 (2019) had issued a strong statement against terror and 'breeding grounds'.

Mike Pompeo, the then US Secretary of State, spoke to Pak foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and urged Pakistan to take meaningful action against terrorist groups "operating in its soil".

These facts are generally missed out in 'sickular' and anti-Modi media narratives. UNSC also named Masood Azhar's JeM in the Pulwama terror statement.

During the tenure of PM Imran, on another occasion, Pakistan got it on its nose was at The Hague. The International Court of Justice (ICJ) on July 17, 2019, by 15-1 verdict held Kulbhushan Jadhav's conviction by Pakistan wrong.

"Of course, Imran Khan's tenure would also go down the memory lane in Pakistan that saw abrogation of Article 370 by the Modi government, and it could do nothing much about it. Episodes like 'Howdy Modi' in Houston and 'Namaste Trump' in Ahmedabad would definitely not add any feather to Imran's cap."

Earlier on September 21, 2018, then MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar gave Imran Khan a taste of 'as assertive new India'.

"It's obvious that behind Pakistan's proposal for talks (between foreign ministers in US) to make a fresh beginning, the evil agenda of Pakistan stands exposed and the true face of new Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan has been revealed to the world in his first few months in the office."

Pakistan invested a lot of money and military-diplomatic time for the Kartarpur Corridor. Its army chief also embraced a state-level Indian politician Navjot Singh Sidhu. However, the historic Ayodhya verdict was delivered on November 9, 2019, when the corridor was opened. It certainly deprived Imran and Pakistan of the so-called 'international media publicity' as entire South Asia and the rest of the world for about a fortnight spoke only about the Ram Temple verdict. In between, there have been other episodes; Sushma Swaraj became the first Indian foreign minister to address the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on March 1, 2019. Pak Minister helplessly stayed away.

On February 23, 2019, PM Modi, in an election rally at Tonk in Rajasthan, had dared Imran Khan to prove his words on the fight against poverty.

''Aaj Pakistan ke pradhan mantri ke shabdoan ko kasauti pe kasne ki jarurat hai...(Time has come for him to prove his own words) Let me see whether he can prove to be truthful to his own words," Modi had said.

Recalling his first telephone talk with Mr Khan after his poll victory in 2018, Modi said, "I had told him you are from the world of sports... Come let India and Pakistan get their act together and fight poverty and illiteracy."

In response, he had told me that he (Imran) is a son of a Pathan, and he will always speak the truth and also do things in the right manner... Thus time has come for him to prove his own words,"

Well, Imran Khan still needs to walk the talk. In between, of course, India has been telling the world about Islamabad's terror friendly approaches.

On June 24, 2021, Arindam Bagchi, MEA spokesman, said: "...And the world knows what Pakistan has brought to Afghanistan."

He also said to ensure normal relations with India, Pakistan must work towards creating a conducive atmosphere, including by taking credible, verifiable and irreversible actions to not allow any territory under its control to be used for cross border terrorism against India in any manner."

End.

NOTE :2.##Indic Wisdom: Indic Spiritual Tradition is Eternal : Aug 29, 2021 : Guruji Shri Nandkishore Tiwari : Organiser : Media Report.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*Indic Wisdom: Indic Spiritual Tradition is EternalGuruji Shri Nandkishore Tiwari

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Every higher stage of spiritual  realisation is known by a certain name which indicates the attribute of that particular stage of realisation"

We all agree that life is invaluable, don’t we?  One’s life is dear to everyone, isn’t it?  But how many of us are really awake to those attributes (vibhuti) which make this life invaluable and dear?

And, even when some among us somehow become aware of that which makes life invaluable and dear, how many even then, among those ones, live in that awareness incessantly? Not many really do.

We don’t do that because the ones who become awake to the attributes that make life invaluable don’t receive said awareness through mainstream global education systems but through some other source.

Our global mainstream education system doesn’t impart those values in the right order of priorities which make life invaluable. And, we are, who we are, more or less what our education makes us. Simply put, those among us who receive supreme meaning  in life  it doesn’t come through the mainstream education system but from other sources of learning (realising). This difference of source creates identity tussle in our behavior as our way of living subtly gets oriented according to the order of values perceived by us in terms of our fulfillment. And, as mentioned, when supreme meaning in life comes from another source instead of its coming from mainstream education then, attraction towards other sources and higher values becomes quite natural. This creates value conflict and identity tussle in individuals and the world. Is this what we should have for shaping up well rounded, fully blossomed personalities? Or, it is a trap to create lop sided personalities, if not outrightly split ones!

So, if it is not ‘this education’ then what is that which makes life invaluable or most valuable especially, human life?

In order to seek the answer of this question, it would be apt and pertinent to have a look at the Indic knowledge traditions. Because, Indic spiritual tradition is seen as eternal in living guru disciple order  (sanaatan-guru-shishya-parampara-kram). It is originally synonymous with eternity (sanaatan). No other tradition identifies itself with sanaatan ‘first’. Therefore, chances of discovering the real values in their correct order are best here as compared to other traditions which originated in Time, at some point in time to be precise. Moreover, it makes sense even when we look at it materially and ‘historically’ as well. As, Vedic Sanskrit-literature is the ancient most literature discovered  by humanity.

When supreme meaning in life comes from another source instead of its coming from mainstream education then, attraction towards other sources and higher values becomes quite natural

The word for value in Vedic Sanskrit is mulya. Mulya means that which is connected to root or coming from root (mul). Root is that point from which life begins. By leaving an inanimate state behind, ‘life’ evolves to animate form. Visibly this process of change from inanimate to animate is continuous at the level of root as minerals are continuously transforming and consumed through activities of root. And, it is reasonable to say that life becomes ‘life’ only when it comes to animation. Before that its constituents stay in elemental and mineral forms. And, neither in elemental form nor in their mineral form these are termed as living/animate.  That’s how it is factual to call life most valuable (muly-vaan). But,  life’s value begins from this point; it doesn’t  end at it. It becomes invaluable  (amulya/anmol) only when it completes the journey and attains its ultimate goal. This journey of life beginning from mulyvaanataa (valuableness) to Amulyataa (invaluableness) must be emphasised and made part of school curriculum across  the globe.

Indic (Vedic) knowledge is indicated as Apaurusheya (i.e. beyond the Creative power of purusha). Purush is the name in Sanskrit which is given to the aatmaa (soul) when its attributes are realised in any human frame to the extent of knowing itself as the master/knower of the field/body (kshetra) but not beyond. Every higher stage of spiritual realisation is known by a certain name which indicates the attribute of that particular stage of realisation. For example, if Purush in a human frame attains to higher spiritual states and attributes then it is known as Eishwar (Purush vishesh ishwarah). There are higher stages to be realised and attributes are attained accordingly. But that is not the main topic for this piece (Upanishad). Main topic here is what makes life valuable and what makes it invaluable.

End.

*Did PM Modi really sell India? -Narendra Modi

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Asset monetisation was done previously during Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Manmohan Singh government, and the outcry about the current government’s monetisation is just a reflection of subservience against PM Modi."

PM Modi’s pathbreaking victory in the 2019 Lok Sabha election left opposition in a phase where Modi’s charismatic personality among the masses is invincible, and there is no place for opposition to replace him in the near future. Therefore, this desperation of losing ground has pressed the panic button in opposition parties and in some media community.

Therefore, the strategy adopted by major opposition parties and few media people is to create a fake narrative and stories to malign the image of PM Modi in the eyes of millions of people. Social media platforms are flooded with messages without any evidence to convey their frustration against PM Modi. Sometimes the language is so awful against him or his mother; it feels like people have lost their balance and forgotten the values elders have taught. The best part of PM Modi’s personality and his working style is that he never gets perturbed by whatever allegations or abuses hurled at him. His focus is only to work for the welfare of every Indian with the slogan, “Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas aur Sabka Vishwas”.

"Everyone clearly knows that all the problems created over the years cannot be solved in one go; few have been solved; lingering will be solved in stages in coming years. Issues such as petroleum production and its prices, international issues, farmer’s issues, health and education, are going on at high speed, however, this will take time to fully incorporate, as we are the second-largest country in the world and democracy is used for selfish political gains and obstructions are created for the government in parliament to pass important bills. Few NGOs are playing in the hands of foreign organisations that do not want to see India as a developed country. The latest allegation on PM Modi is that he sold India. Let us look at some facts to know the truth.".

During a budget speech on Feb 2021, FM Nirmala Sitharaman mentioned the “Asset Monetization” plan. Going ahead with the budget announcement, the Modi government announced asset monetisation in the next four years’ worth of six lakh crores. It was not the first time asset monetisation is being done; it was done during Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Manmohan Singh government, so this outcry about the current government’s monetisation is just a reflection of subservience against PM Modi. If political leaders have really believed in the nation's development, they would not have opposed a policy supporting the economic growth of a country, job creation, and additional revenue for the government to develop the infrastructure length and breadth of a country.

1.#What does “Assent Monetization” mean?

The government is transferring revenue rights to the private sector for a specified period for a sum of upfront money, revenue share and commitment to invest in an asset. It doesn’t mean ownership is transferred to private players; ownership still lies with the government.

The purpose behind this initiative is to utilise the already built infrastructure (brownfield projects) to generate revenue upfront; otherwise, it could take several years to generate the same amount from the project/asset.

"Greenfield project is a tough task for any entrepreneur considering the huge investment, time, efforts and risk. The brownfield project De-risk the private player as the government has already created the asset. The increase in investment will lead to create more jobs, better revenue statistics to government, infrastructure development, overall economic growth, effective utilisation of government assets such as power sector, roads, railways, natural gas and petroleum pipeline, fibre network and so on. 15 railway stations, 25 airports, 160 coal mining projects, 31 projects in 9 major ports, 210 lakh MT of warehousing assets, two national stadiums and two regional centres, will be up for monetisation. Redevelopment of ITDC hotels will generate around Rs 15000 crore."

The question is on what ground opposition is creating narrative when the ownership is going to be with the government, and it is going to add revenue for furtherance. It clearly points out that the only agenda is to malign the image of PM so that he loses the election in 2024. Therefore, the priority is not our country and its people but a person who has gained power with the blessings of people democratically and working hard to bring positive socio-economic change and building a strong nation. One more worry: he is not allowing unethical practices and corruption by those who enjoyed power and money at the behest of taxpayer money.

Regarding the privatisation of some government PSUs, we really need to change the outlook towards our country and its growth compared to developed nations.

Is it not our duty to improve the efficiency of our government enterprises, ministries, various departments all over India? The inefficiency and corrupt practices of many government enterprises and offices indeed derailed and affected our economy largely. Have we ever thought about why government assets are mostly in losses even after the government is pumping a huge amount of money and resources to build and run? The government-run machinery is politically influenced, the greed of few people steered to use resources adversely, products and money to gratify personal agenda and make money out of it. Most of the government employees have an attitude that they have no responsibility and accountability towards society and government. Therefore, this attitude makes them unproductive, ineffective and many follow corrupt practices. This comfortable, money-making job and securing the retired life with pension attracts many Indians to look for a government job, and hence numerous people are differing with the idea of “privatisation”.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2.##How will privatisation help the government and people at large?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

• The burden of carrying huge losses will end, and revenue earned will be used for infrastructure development.

• The sick units’ ones owned by private players, the efficiency, quality, and performance will improve, securing thousands of jobs and creating new job opportunities.

• The corrupt practices will stop.

• The growth engine will further add value in terms of taxes to governments

• Living standards will improve

• People/customers will get the best services at cheaper rates.

• The cycle of completing each task effectively and in time will help people and businesses to act fast, adding to their efficiency, quality, and delivery.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Every Indian needs to contemplate “Nation first” than any person even if he/she is Prime Minister of our country. If a policy, a law or a decision is going to add value to our society and country economically, socially, we must unite and support rather than making it a political point.

End.
