#To call the CAA as ‘anti-Muslim' or even equate it to ethnic cleansing is simply far fetched given the nature of the act and demographics.

#India's public protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) has successfully managed to draw the attention of international media and found a place on front pages globally. Left wing media highlighted the protests and portrayed the new act as 'anti-Muslim' and 'fascist'. The hysteria involved in the rhetoric however, shows much confusion and emotion and the facts are lost in their understanding of what is truly intended.

The Wall Street Journal, Guardian, New York Times to name just a few left-leaning outlets were responsible for adding to this confusion and accused the Modi government of ‘fascism’ and ‘ethnic cleansing.’ This is a gross exaggeration if not blatant lie. Let us look at the facts.

#First off - CAA amended the Citizenship Act of 1955 by providing a pathway to Indian citizenship for members of Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi, and Christian religious minorities, who fled persecution from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan before December 2014. Muslims were not given such eligibility. Many Muslims from minor sects such as Shias, Sufis, Ahmaddiyas felt that they too deserved such consideration given the ongoing discrimination they face from the Sunni majority in these aforementioned nations.

##Beneficiaries of the Amended Act were *31,313 people : *25,447 Hindus, *5,807 Sikhs,*55 Christians, *2 Buddhists and *2 Parsees. Those are the numbers. The bill does not specifically state that India is ‘life insurance’ for ‘all Hindus or ‘all non-Muslims living in Muslim countries’ for that matter : albeit how Israel serves as life insurance for Jews, if one were to give a more global comparison. A Jew from any part of the world - whether Europe,China, Ethiopia or the USA can move to Israel, persecuted or not.

###India is not offering the same to Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, Sikhs or any of the followers of the Dharmic religions for that matter. The Act does not encompass or include migrants from non-Muslim countries fleeing persecution to India, particularly Iranian Bahai, Hindu refugees from Sri Lanka, and Buddhist refugees from Tibet, China. Also, it does not apply to Hindu and Buddhist Rohingya, Balinese Hindus, White followers of Hare Krishna in the West - these communities are not given any consideration under this act.

*"However, to call it ‘anti Muslim ‘or even equate it to ethnic cleansing is simply far fetched given the nature of the act and demographics. If the Modi government was so racist and anti Muslim, then why would Ahmaddiya Muslims even request permission to move to India? If India is fascist and Modi is Hitler’s uncle, then why are certain Muslim sects protesting to come in?"

#####If the combined Hindu population outside India (20+ million including Sri Lankan Tamils and Balinese) as well as all non-Muslims from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan were to enter India at once, the combined figure would in no way be comparable to India’s Muslim population of around 200 million and India’s total population of 1.4 billion.

Of note, Sonia Gandhi a White Italian, was elected Prime Minister of India in 2004. This was possible because she got citizenship through marriage to Rajiv Gandhi, another former PM. Citizenship of India by naturalization can be acquired by a foreigner through other means, such as marriage, in her case : this still applies to Muslims from Pakistan and other countries and is not affect by CAA. In comparison, only a born USA citizen can become the president of that country.

*Now they have another window of 5 years to take Gospel of Christ to villages in India

Fifteen years later today in 2019, Christian Missionaries are still aggressively targeting the economically deprived section of India’s population and rapidly converting them into Christianity with a mission to increase the number of “believers”.

Pastor Jonah’s website articulates “Mission 2019” that includes a ten minutes video on India. Pastor Mohan Lazarus proclaims in this one minute video that 25,000 Indians are converted every day. This one-minute video shows how 23,000 Indians have been converted by a single organization and this two minutes excerpt from a TV report on CBN News in the USA shows how 300,000 Indians have been converted over 10 years in Rajasthan alone.

*Sales” methods which involve hard selling miracles of Jesus in public places (e.g. this 30 seconds video from Delhi DTC buses) requires a lot of hard work but is rarely effective.

Hence, a plethora of other methods, ranging from deception to creating fear are used by the missionaries to convert people.

Missionary organizations create deceptive stage shows where gullible people are made to believe that their miseries would end if they started believing in the “True God”. Many such events have been captured on video where –

*some paid actors enact as if they are possessed by the devil but a pastor cures them immediately with a magical touch (3 minutes video)

*a lady claims that her backbone is broken, both her kidneys have failed and she couldn’t even stand without support. A pastor heals her within 5 minutes with the magical touch and she starts running (5 min video)

*one person claimed that his “one lag has become shorter than the other”. The pastor takes the name of Jesus and grows the leg so that they become equal (2 minutes video)

*another lady claimed that she had lost her hair completely and became bald, but the pastor blessed her, and her hair suddenly grew back (1-minute video)

Invoking fear is the other most frequently used method. People are told that Hindu deities are monkeys and elephants – they are “fake Gods” and won’t protect them. The “True God” would take away their pain and misery if they converted to Christianity, as illustrated in this one minute video. 

#1.Why do they do it? :

Missionaries believe that God has commanded them to spread his name all over the world. They pursue it as their religious duty. Consequently, the obsession to spread the name of Jesus runs much deeper than most people realize.

In 2018, John Chau, a 26 years old missionary from the USA bribed some fishermen to take him to one of India’s Andaman islands. His target was the Sentinelese tribes that have evaded any contact with the modern world till today. They are a protected tribe and under Indian law, it is illegal to contact them. He was killed by bows and arrows when he approached them and even his body could not be recovered.

The excerpts from his diary later revealed that he wanted to “declare Jesus” to those people. He was fully aware that he broke Indian law by approaching those people. “The Milky Way was above and God Himself was shielding us from the Coast Guard and Navy patrols”, he wrote in his diary. The full story of John Chau becoming a missionary and his longtime fascination with Sentinelese tribe in India can be read on Newyork Times and CNN.

Similar aspects are shown in the case of Mother Teresa who is otherwise known for having dedicated her life to helping the poor in India. Christopher Hitchens wrote in an essay titled The Missionary Position: Mother Teresa in Theory and Practice, that the Missionaries of Charity had a conversion agenda too.

According to Mr Hitchens, they were encouraged to secretly baptise the people on their deathbeds. Susan Shields, a former member of the order, told him that “Sisters were to ask each person in danger of death if they wanted a ‘ticket to heaven’. An affirmative reply was to mean consent to baptism. The sister was then to pretend that she was just cooling the patient’s head with a wet cloth, while in fact, she was baptising him, quietly uttering the necessary words”. Secrecy was important so that it would not come to be known that Mother Teresa’s sisters were baptising poor Hindus and Muslims. In another article published in 2003, Mr Hitchens described Mother Teresa as a “fanatic, a fundamentalist and a fraud”

#2.Why India? :

“Joshua Project”, an organization based in the United States maintains ethnological data to support Christian missions. It highlights the ethnic groups of the “unreached” world or the areas with the least followers of evangelical Christianity.

Their data shows 1.8 billion followers of Islam (red dots in the image below) scattered across multiple countries but 1 billion followers of Hinduism (blue dots) located in a single country – India.

“Global Hope India” mentions on their website that “India represents the most unreached country in the world. Over 1 billion people have never held a Bible”. “Mission India” mentions on their website that their mission is to transform communities in India by planting Churches. “Christ for India” mentions on their website that they started small in Kerala but now they have a presence in 24 states of India with 4550 Churches. “India Go” mentions on their website that they are “dedicated to planting Churches in each of India’s 28,000+ postal codes”

#4.Demographic Impact:

As per the published data from Center for the Study of Global Christianity, by the year 2000, there were 5400 missionary agencies around the world who send about 440,000 missionaries to foreign countries for evangelizing and proselytization

Lakhs of such missionaries pursuing India as their prime target for many decades has been sufficient to make significant demographic changes in parts of India specially the states in North East. Census data shows a rapid increase in followers of Christianity in the 10 years period from 2001 to 2011.

*Meghalaya (70% increased to 75%)

*Arunachal Pradesh (18% increased to 30%) – in 1971, it was less than 1%

*Nagaland (80% increased to 90%) – in 1951, it was 52%

*Manipur (34% increased to 41%) – in 1961, it was 19%

*In the same period, the Hindu population in Nagaland has declined from 14% to 7%

*In Manipur, Hindus being converted to Christianity has brought down Hindu and Christian population to equal proportion at 41% each. In 1961, it was 60% and 20% respectively

#5.What should India do:

Indic religions largely believe in liberal principles like “God is one supreme power; people over the world call it by different names”. Hence Indic religions like Hinduism do not go around asking people to follow their religion. However, Abrahamic religions like Christianity and Islam tend to believe that only their God is the “True God” and it is their religious duty to increase the number of followers.

This obsession is not limited to Christian missionaries only. In another article, this author had talked about Love Jihad. A sting operation by India Today had uncovered that organizations like PFI in Kerala are running an organized conversion factory with an objective to aggressively increase the followers of Islam in India.

Battling against such preying forces, Indic religions are sitting ducks with no legal framework or government support to prevent this menace.

In 2016, as part of what is popularly known as Yarovaya Law, Russia banned all missionary work (defined as spreading information about one’s faith to make non-members join) outside of any places of worship.

It would be appropriate if the Government of India recognized forced and deceptive religious conversions as a real social issue and brought laws banning proselytizing similar to the parts of Yarovaya law in Russia.

#Government of India urgently needs to implement a pan-India legal framework that –

*bans approaching anyone with an objective of religious conversions

*bans any religious preaching in public places

*allows religious preaching only inside clearly marked and designated places of worship

*allows only willful seekers to approach the place of worship and learn about other faiths

*makes it mandatory to register faith conversions to ensure that conversion is not under duress or deception

"A law drafted around such principles could go a long way to curb the nuisance of forced or deceptive religious conversions while allowing the freedom to practice any religion by choice."

In 2019 general elections in India, BJP’s decision to field Sadhvi Pragya against senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh has created ripples in news circles. Sadhvi Pragya was accused in Malegaon bomb blast case and eyebrows were raised about the optics of party nominating a “terror accused”.

While some may be confounded by this decision, a brief walk through the history of the last twenty years in Indian politics may help understand the reasons for doing so.

It all began when Congress started creating the bogey of ‘Hindu terror’ as a political strategy soon after Sonia Gandhi taking over as its Party President in 1998. Shortly thereafter, they began to blindly blame RSS for every major law & order incident in order to portray them as extremists.

1984 – Violence against Sikhs :

It was a known fact that in the aftermath of Indira Gandhi’s assassination, many Congress leaders led the mobs in violence against Sikhs. Congress leader Sajjan Kumar was convicted and eventually sentenced for life. Another Congress leader Jagdish Tytler was named by CBI for leading the violent mobs. Congress leader Kamal Nath was also accused of leading such mobs. He has now been made the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh.

#Yet in 1999, Manmohan Singh of Congress blamed RSS for those riots and also mentioned that Congress “had no role in it”

2002 – Riots in Gujarat :

Narendra Modi as the Chief Minister of the state was blamed for not controlling the riots based on the testimony by one police officer – IPS Sanjiv Bhatt. He testified to have attended a meeting where Modi asked Police to look the other way during riots and “let Hindus vent their anger”

#However, the Supreme Court appointed SIT team uncovered the following details –

*All bureaucrats and senior police officials (including Director General of Police and Police Commissioner) denied the above and testified that Bhatt was not even present in the said meeting (he was too junior to be invited)

*Bhatt had testified his driver taking him to the meeting, but the driver was not even present in Gujarat on those dates. Later the driver was taken to Congress legal cell and pressured to support Bhatt’s testimony

*Bhatt’s several other connections with Congress were uncovered. Bhatt had exchanged many emails with a Gujarat Congress leader, he was tutored by Congress legal cell and Bhatt’s wife contested election on Congress ticket

*One of the most direct evidence of Bhatt colluding with Congress was an email where he wrote he would “take it up with someone in the party” and get “suitably instructed”

*The Supreme Court’s verdict stated that Sanjiv Bhatt had “not come to the Court with clean hands“, was “not acting bona fide, was catering to the interest elsewhere” and had “acted in deliberation and consultation with the leaders of the rival political party”

#In other words, IPS Sanjiv Bhatt was supporting a conspiracy by Congress to frame Narendra Modi and BJP

2006/2008 Malegaon blasts and 2007 Samjhauta Express blast

For 2006 Malegaon blast, initially, nine suspects were included in the charge-sheet based on the available evidence. One of the suspects Shabbir owned a battery unit in Malegaon – he was alleged to be a trained operative of LeTand investigators had found traces of RDX in his factory

For Samjhauta Express blast, United States shared intelligence inputs about the proven links of Arif Qasmani, a Pakistani national linked with terrorist organizations. UN Security Council has still listed him as the perpetrator of Samjhauta Express blast.

However, the Government of India changed the course of the investigation to implicate alleged Hindu extremists, one of which was Lt. Col Srikant Purohit, a serving army officer. He was also charged for the 2008 Malegaon Blast. For 2008 Malegaon Blast, another alleged Hindu extremist named Sadhvi Pragya Thakur was charged.

In the Court, as many as 59 witnesses from the Army stated that Purohit was a military intelligence person who was actually doing his job (of gathering intelligence inputs) by infiltrating extremist organizations.

In 2016 it was found that ATS had planted RDX to frame Col Purohit and Sadhvi Pragya to prove Hindu extremism. Inspector Mehboob Abdul Karim Mujawar also confirmed in a video that ATS team had planted RDX to frame Purohit and Sadhvi Pragya.

In August 2017, Col Purohit was granted bail after spending 9 years in jail. Earlier, in April 2017, Sadhvi Pragya was granted bail too. The Bombay High Court, while granting bail to Sadhvi Pragya stated in its order that prima facie, there’s no case against her. The full text of the court’s order can be read here.

2007 – Mecca Masjid Blast :

The USA and UN held Pakistan based HuJI (Harkat ul Jihad Islami) and LeT (Lashkar-e-Toiba) as responsible for the attack. South Asia Terrorism Portal (SATP) is still listing Pakistan based HuJI as responsible for the attack.

Government of India were however keen on pursuing a “Hindu terror” angle. Interrogators quizzed many RSS leaders and arrested Swami Aseemanand along with a few former RSS members. NIA filed charge-sheet against alleged Hindu activists.

Not surprisingly, the charges could not be proven. In 2018, the court cited “no evidence” against the accused and acquitted Swami Aseemanand along with all others accused of any involvement in the case

2008 – Mumbai Attack :

An investigation by Pakistan’s top cop Tariq Khosa confirmed that Mumbai attack was planned and executed by Pakistan based militants.

Results of his investigation were published in Pakistani newspaper Dawn, which also confirmed that Kasab was a Pakistani national, his place of residence, his initial schooling and his joining a militant organization was established. Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists were imparted training near Thatta, Sindh and launched by sea from there and the ops room from where the operation was directed, was also identified in Karachi.

Yet, in 2010, Congress leader Digvijay Singh was busy launching the book which called Mumbai terror attacks as a conspiracy by RSS.

The statements from Congress leaders like A R Antulay (Chief Minister of Maharashtra) and Digvijay Singh were keen to put the blame for 26/11 Mumbai attack on India’s “Hindu extremists”. Aziz Burney blamed Modi and RSS as responsible for the attack

To summarize, there was credible input about Malegaon blast, Samjhauta Express blast and Mecca Masjid blast being carried out by LeT and HuJI. The biggest threat to India’s peace has always been from terrorist organizations based in Pakistan.

Yet, Congress government used up country’s resources and bandwidth to prove Indian individuals (Lt. Col Purohit, Swami Aseemanand and Sadhvi Pragya) as Hindu extremists.

Rest assured, if ASI Tukaram Omble had not nabbed Ajmal Kasab alive (and paid with his life), Congress would have arrested a few RSS members, forced a confession and made us believe that Mumbai attacks in which 150 civilians were killed were also orchestrated by Modi, RSS and Hindu extremists.

A detailed report in India Today confirmed that David Headley bought Hindu sacred threads for all Mumbai attackers. They were also given fake ids of a college in Hyderabad, India. The idea was that all attackers would be killed by security forces and then these “proofs” would be shown to portray them as Indian terrorists.

It is understandable that Pakistan would go all the way to hide their footprints and pin the blame on India. What’s surprising is Congress’s eagerness to play along and pin the blame on RSS and alleged Hindu extremists just because it benefits them in local politics.

*Just to reiterate because the seriousness of this is seldom understood – if Kasab was not caught alive, Congress would have made us all believe that 26/11 Mumbai attacks were orchestrated by RSS and “Hindu extremists”

Only once people understand this aspect of Mumbai attack, people who let out a gasp on “BJP is fielding a terror accused against Digvijay Singh” may wake up to the possibility that the said candidate might also be a victim of a similar conspiracy.

Perpetrating the theory of “Hindu extremism” is a ploy that yields political dividend for Congress (voters were driven away from RSS/BJP and support Congress). However, this strategy not only weakens India’s stand against Pakistan supported terrorism, it also shows India in poor light on international stage.

Once people understand the above history in detail, they’ll also get insights into why in 2019 elections BJP has fielded Sadhvi Pragya against Digvijay Singh – the main conspirator of the “Hindu terror” theory.

"If she wins elections against Digvijay Singh, it would send out a strong message that Congress’s strategy of blindly blaming Hindu groups for violence has failed, voters have comprehensively rejected the “Hindu terror” theory and Congress should stop propagating the same in future."

Former Mumbai Commissioner of Police Rakesh Maria in his tell-all book ‘Let Me Say It Now’ has revealed that 26/11 Mumbai terror attack terrorist Ajmal Kasab had an ID with Hindu name on it. The ID found on Kasab had his name as “Samir Chaudhary”. Maria was on the control room duty on the day 10 Pakistani terrorists wrecked havoc in Mumbai.

Maria reveals how he unraveled the plot ISI and Lashkar-e-Toiba had hatched against India during the interrogation. All ten terrorists were made to seem like they were disgruntled Hindus who were against India because of ‘atrocities’ against Muslims. All ten terrorists were given saffron or red thread to be tied around their wrist. Identity cards with Hindu names with Indian addresses were placed in their pockets as the ISI and Lashkar wanted all the ten terrorists to die in the attack. Catching Kasab alive was the biggest breakthrough for Mumbai Police. Had he not been caught alive, the whole world would have been led to believe that this was a Hindu terror attack.

Because of this, guarding Kasab and ensuring his safety was more challenging to make sure he stays alive till the end of the trial. Earlier it was reported that the 26/11 terrorists even carried fake student ID cards of Arunoday College in Hyderabad. Maria reveals that Kasab was made to believe that Muslims are not allowed to offer namaz in India and that mosques are locked up. He thought that the azaan he heard in his prison cell was figment of his imagination. Maria then got police officials to take Kasab to a nearby mosque in a police vehicle to show that Indian Muslims are indeed allowed to offer namaz, contrary to what he was made to believe.

In 2010, months after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, Congress leader Digvijaya Singh, along with film maker Mahesh Bhatt and others had launched a book which claimed that the Mumbai terror attacks were an RSS conspiracy. While the world was holding Pakistan responsible for 26/11, then Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh & close aide of Rahul Gandhi, had released the book “26/11 RSS Ki Saazish?” (26/11,An RSS Conspiracy?). The book was authored by Aziz Burney, Editor-in-Chief of Urdu Sahara newspaper.

Further, Singh had alleged that Maharashtra ATS chief Hemant Karkare had called him two hours before the 26/11 attack in Mumbai to say that his life was blighted by constant threats from those opposed to the ATS probe into the 2008 Malegaon blast in which Hindu extremists were accused. Thus, Singh had exonerated Pakistan and had decided to push the blame of 26/11 attack on RSS and Hindu extremists.

On Sheena Bora case, Maria, in his autobiography, says that a Mumbai Police officer kept him in dark about crucial information in the case. When he was promoted and transferred as Director General of Home Guards in middle of the case, Maharashtra government had issued a statement that even though he was transferred, he would continue to oversee the case. He further states that he suspected someone had wrongly briefed the then Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis about the murder case on his behalf.

In fact, Maria further reveals that the then Mumbai Joint Commissioner Deven Bharti kept him in the dark about knowledge of Indrani and Peter Mukerjea. During interrogation Peter had revealed that he had approached Bharti back in 2012 after Sheena went missing but Maria was not informed about this. Bharti is currently the ATS chief of Maharashtra.

As per reports, in his autobiography, the former Mumbai top cop says that owing to his informant network, he managed to save business tycoon Lalit Modi’s life. After Maria met Modi in London in 2014 when he was there for a conference, it had led to a lot of controversy. Maria says that after his meet with the tainted ex-IPL boss, he had soon informed the Home Ministry of the same. Modi was being threatened by the underworld back then.
